On Twitter and Facebook, Nodler points out job creation works when Missouri businesses export products to places like Asia. Three months after I announced my trade mission to Asia to increase exports from our district, Nodler confirms the best way to create jobs is not by waiting for tax cuts but real economic development that encourages production.

Nodler attended the groundbreaking ceremony at K&S Wire Products in Neosho, Missouri yesterday. K&S has doubled their employee base after increasing their exports to China. Nodler writes, “I attended the groundbreaking ceremony at K&S wire to accommodate additional work; they have doubled the number of employees. In this economy Gene Schwartz and his folks have found a way to sell products to China. K&S is an employee owned company that is showing America how to do business!”

Regardless of whether I came up with this plan or not in March is not important. Authorship of this plan is irrelevant. The real winners are more Southwest Missourians going to work through the global economy, K&S Wire Products for finding a need and increasing their output, and all the Missouri companies and families who benefit from real economic stimulus.

Expanding trade into Asia puts more Missourians to work. It’s time to start thinking outside of the box, and the Seventh District needs real leadership to ensure more success stories and job creation. My jobs plan to increase exports is critical for job creation as Senator Nodler notes.

For more information about how Michael Wardell plans to increase exports to create jobs for Southwest Missouri, visit www.wardellforcongress.com.

Wardell Joins Freshman 50

Brian Miller, the founder of the Freshmen 50, contacted Missouri Seven Republican Michael Wardell over the weekend for a meeting over the phone. Miller, an Air Force veteran, personally asked congressional candidate and retired Marine Wardell to join the Freshmen 50. The two spoke on the phone on Saturday, and Wardell agreed and noted it was a great honor to be asked by the founder and would be a greater honor to make the list once the final 50 are announced.

The Freshmen 50 is an independent political action committee whose mission is to place 50 new fiscally and legislatively responsible citizens in the House of Representatives during 2010. They have the following platform:

Platform

1. Apply the Law Equally: All laws that apply to all citizens also apply to Congress.

2. Limit Terms in Office: Amend the Constitution to limit Congressmen and Senators to no more than 12 years, respectively.

3. Enforce Congressional Ethics

a. Mandatory, yearly tax and expense audits of every member to be made fully available to the general public each Oct 1, until the federal tax code is reformed (see item #5)

b. No member of Congress, or Congressional staff member, can ever be hired as a lobbyist, paid or otherwise, to Congress

c. Unleash the ethics committee: require only 50% of an ethics committee to approve an investigation

4. Read the Bill: Prior to final vote, the bill to be voted upon must be read out loud, by one or more of its sponsors, in its entirety, on the floor of the House. Should amendments be required, they must also be read in the same manner. A member may not vote on the bill unless he or she was present for the entire reading, including applicable amendments.

5. Reform the Federal Tax Code: Repeal the 16th Amendment and replace the current federal tax code with a clear, simple, and fair tax code which includes the following principles:

a. Tax only once

b. Tax at one rate

c. A Constitutional amendment requiring a two-thirds majority for any new tax or tax hike

6. Balance the Budget: Amend the Constitution to require a balanced budget, unless sanctioned by a three-fifths majority in each house of Congress.

Wardell's Jobs Plan Gains Steam

While other Republican candidates troll for votes today eating fish and passing out stickers, Michael Wardell continues to work towards creating a favorable environment for job expansion in Southwest Missouri. Wardell did not spend time at the annual Sucker Days event in his hometown of Nixa, other than a brief stop to say hello to his neighbors, speak to veterans and friends at the American Legion, and enjoy a few minutes in the sunshine.
It was back to work then as he developed his presentations for Japan and Asia for his upcoming trade mission as well as numerous meetings coming up with chambers of commerce organizations around the Ozarks. Jobs are more important right now than passing out stickers in hopes of votes.
Wardell has already won the interests and the support of multiple companies in the Ozarks that look to increase their bottom line by expanding their markets into Asia or anywhere else in the globe. These businesspersons understand the importance of his trip and what it means to the local economy and they are hoping Wardell will open up relationships so their products hit shelves in Asia.
Wardell and these businesses believe exporting products from the Ozarks to the rest of the world will help families in the Ozarks through job creation. These companies know they cannot wait for tax cuts to expand their businesses. They also realize tax cuts may not be immediately around the corner to create a more favorable economic environment. That is why Wardell’s plan has generated the interest of so many Southwest Missouri business leaders.
It’s also the reason why Southwest Missouri voters have a different choice in this year’s Republican primary. The other candidates are speaking typical platform politics, but Wardell’s plan gives each Southwest Missouri business an opportunity to grow, either directly or indirectly from the benefits that will trickle down if Southwest Missouri grows their exports to Asia and other parts of the world.

Newton Co. Tax cuts are nearly impossible given the current political climate. I'm going to give everyone something to think about. So here is goes:

Everyone who is running on the Republican ticket want's to cut taxes. But lets be real. We are in mid-term elections. If we do win the House back, which is very possible, it is virtually impossible to win the Senate back, but it's a good chance we will make some inroads. The President would Veto everything that is sent his way for the next two years as he slides into the title: Lame Duck President. Then we have to win the White House back to begin to repair the damage this current President has done, and only then be able to cut taxes or implement the Fair Tax, which I support completely.

So we are talking Summer of 2013 before we can even hope for tax relief. Many of the people in Southwest Mo. don't have that much time to waste. People need to pay bills and mortgages. We Need JOBS! Waiting on the Federal Gov. to change to a more favorable environment is unacceptable. We must start doing things different in order to achieve a different result. Exporting products to Asia, South America, Europe and Africa will increase demand which in turn creates more production. "Hey! We need a second shift!" is a problem every business want's. But we also need to step up our game as well. Learn to eat with your left hand is awkward if your a righty like me, but it can be done. My connections to Japan and Asia will open doors for business to begin. It's like dating, you can't go to dinner unless you first start a conversation. There are people in the district that are available to assist in the logistics of getting our products out the door, but its up to us to take the initiative to act first. People in other countries LOVE Made in America products, we just have to show them what we have.

Condolance Letter To Ambassador Kupiecki of Poland

This is the typewritten version of a hand written letter that I penned to His Excellency, Ambassador Kupiecki

His Excellency Ambassador Robert Kupiecki
Ambassador to the United States of America
2224 Wyoming Ave North West
Washington D.C. 20008

Dear Ambassador Kupiecki:

I was saddened and shocked to hear of the sad news about your President, his Wife, and many members of his staff and of your Government.

Words cannot express the sorrow felt towards the world’s loss of a man of freedom, a friend of the America, and of course a courageous ally to the United States.

His courage and leadership, along with former President Lech Walesa was paramount in the emergence and successes of Poland becoming a solid example of post cold war democracy.

Please extend our prayers and condolences to his daughter Marta and his brother Jaroslaw and the people of Poland on this tragic day.

Sincerely,

Michael & Clay is one of the best bloggers that I know and is certainly going somewhere big. I wouldn't be surprised to see him reach Gateway Pundit status some day soon. Clay has a clear sense of what is right for this country and recently became extremely involved with the local Missouri Congressional primary race for his district - Missouri Congressional district 7. MO CD 7 is the seat held by retiring Congressman Roy Blunt. Clay slowly became privy to details behind the assumed front runner Billy Long and started to explore deeper and deeper into Billy Long's candidacy. What he found he didn't like, to say the least. Billy Long seemed to talk the talk but not walk the walk. Clay Bowler then formed the Long is Wrong site and accompanying PAC on this note.

Clay was effective and proved to be a thorn in the side of this presumed shoe in for MO CD 7. His citizen journalism directed at the CD 7 race and Billy Long in particular, proved to be the most effective reportage of the race in the entire state of Missouri. Little did Clayton know however, just how effective his citizen journalism against Billy Long really was and just the depth that Billy Long would sink to to squelch the citizen journalist with the strongest voice.

Never in his wildest dreams would Clay Bowler have envisioned the race taking the turn that it did for him. According to Clay Bowler, Billy Long bribed the citizen journalist with a campaign spot to shut him up and shut down his site. As you well know, this kind of electioneering-shenanigan is quite illegal. And if Clayton Bowler can prove it in court or to investigators, he has one hell of a national story on his hands. Did I mention that Clay Bowler just released an FEC ethics violation letter against Billy Long today?

Remember this, aside from the local ramifications for Missouri-7, this story is a teachable moment. Taking back this nation from the power-broker elitists starts at the local level - all the way down to the local dog catcher. People that believe in limited government ideals and not the entitlement credo of the ruling class. To get there, this nation needs thousands of citizen journalists to right the S.S. America. As Clayton Bowler has proved, anyone can do it.

Freedom and the Constitution takes an Upper Cut

<meta content="text/html; I'm amazed that he has never been challenged on that issue with the exception of Mike Moons' minor questioning.

So here is the challenge::

Billy Long::
A. Knows the truth and is hoping the voters of the 7th CD are ignorant enough not to question his position.
B. Is lying and is trying to garner sympathy for the downtrodden Millionaire
C. Is clueless as to the rules in the Ethics Manual ( Not going there today ), and the 'advisers' that he has been rumored to have retained are equally ignorant.

I choose the 3rd, because it fits his past statements of saying "I'm not the smartest guy in the room"

For those wanting to read, look here:
Page 256 (not the pdf page) of the 2008 House Ethics Manual

http://ethics.house.gov/Media/PDF/2008_House_Ethics_Manual.pdf

For those who don't want to read it, here are the cliff notes:

Basically, everything that is real property over the value of $1,000 bucks need to be disclosed, with a few exceptions i.e. your home that doesn't produce income. The reasons for the disclosure is to ensure that there are no conflicts of interest. i.e. owning a medical billing company and voting on a medicare bill that could impact your industry, or a car dealership and have the government bail out your manufacture. Now having friends that it could impact might not be a violation, but it sure looks fishy.

Putting everything in a qualified blind trust (as per the House Ethics Manual) alleviates the need to disclose because you can't control the trust, therefor, no potential conflict of interest.

The Long and Short of it, is simple:

Do your homework before coming to class or risk being embarrassed by your teacher

Ethics Charges Filed

Ethics charges have been filed with the General Counsel of the Federal Election Commission against Billy Long (R) Mo. 7th CD

Potential FEC Ethics Violations to be Reported

Mar 15, 2010 – Until today's tragic house fire ( see: www.wardellforcongress.com for further information)
which claimed the lives of my employee’s three children, Alexis (7), Kelsey (5), and Devin (4), it was my intent to travel to Jefferson City, Mo. to register for the upcoming Republican primary for the 7th Congressional seat now held by Roy Blunt. Due to the tragedy that struck my business, I will remain in Springfield to attend the children’s funerals.

With that said, it’s now been two weeks since Republican Billy Long was accused of attempting to bribe the blogger who writes the Billy Long is Wrong Web site. Since that time, Long has avoided the issue and not answered questions of the allegations. I have confirmed with three sources that Long did attempt to offer a job to the blogger known as Bungalow Bill in exchange for removing the blog site critical of the Long campaign on March 2, 2010, at Pizza by Stout in Joplin, Missouri, following the Republican women’s meeting that evening.

It has also come to my attention that Mr. Long may also be in violation of corporate in-kind donations to his campaign, which violates the 1907 Tillman Act. It is for these reasons I am moving forward with filing a complaint against Long with the Federal Election Commission.

I have prepared a statement of what I have learned about the event, and I will have it notarized and sent FedEx to the Federal Election Commission within the next two days. Our party is in the process of rebuilding trust with voters, and Longs unethical behavior puts our party at risk of losing the 7th Congressional seat if these allegations wait for the Democratic challenger to use then against Long in the fall if he were to win the primary.

Since this story broke almost two weeks ago, I am in disbelief and dismayed that my other six Republican opponents have remained without comment towards the possible ethics violations Long is accused of, with so much on the line this year. If Republicans want to return to the party America can trust, they are going to have to do so by policing their own. With so much to lose, the other six candidates chose to remain quiet. Republicans cannot afford to send a man to Washington who will hurt the party through payoffs to avoid criticism or gain favor. Americans already have trust issues with our party, and we need to work every day to rebuild that trust. What Long did at a Joplin pizza parlor will not benefit the Republican party in the long run.

Speaking as a voter and for the voters in Southwest Missouri, Billy Long owes us an explanation why he feels the First Amendment is something he can silence with a bribe.

Wardell Issues Statement Concerning Allegations Against Employee of Family Business

As today’s tragedy of loss unfolds, my employee David Williams and his fiance have lost their three children, it's evident the bile of human nature still circles the carcass of the fallen.

The report that Mr. David Williams is a sexual predictor is a complete over exaggeration. He was 17 at the time of the offense and I personal looked into the matter. After learning the facts surrounding the case, and discussing it with David, and I was completely and unequivocally confidant that David was not a threat to me, my family or my two-year old daughter. The Authorities are aware that he and Violet were together, engaged, and that there were children in their home. The Authorities were comfortable with the situation.

Davids' past is unfortunate, growing up as a confused teenager in foster care. Before you place judgment on him, you should know his label of 'sex offender' is one of the least offensive judgments. They were a boy and a girl taking it further than they should have, and the system waited until his 18th birthday to charge him as an adult.

David has taken his punishment and has turned his life around. He has a job, a fiance, and her children that he loves and fought to save. He has gone from being two months behind on his rent in a poorly maintained trailer, to a recently renovated home and two cars that get he and his fiance' to work trying to better themselves. The Government does lend assistance but they were working to get off of that, and I am proud to help an American who had made poor choices turn his life around, and I admonish anyone who judges me for giving this Man a chance.

I am not advocating the actions which places this label upon him, it’s a reminder that we must work harder in our community to promote healthy lifestyles with our teenagers. It also is a reminder that people can fix their problems....if given a chance.

Michael J. I have spinal cord issues. These started in '92. keep that in mind.

Today I drove from Springfield, Mo. to Fayetteville, Ark. for an evaluation that is taking the Federal Government, are you ready for this? 18 years to deal with, I'm still waiting...

I left Nixa, Mo., drove to Springfield to drop my Daughter at Grannies to stay for the day. (she's two) and then to Ar. I drove 236 miles 'round trip, was paid $96 bucks for travel, and for what? An Examination that took.....15 minutes...this was followed by x-rays (another 15min.) for the umpteenth time to determine the same thing, I'm hurt. This could not be done in Mt. Vernon because, are you ready for this? "They (Mt. Vernon) don't like to do it (disability evaluations) because 'This is not what I was trained to do"...Guess what?? Tough Sh!$ That what you were hired to do. Don't like it? Pack your trash and pay your education bills in the real world.

The V.A. wants Vets. to go to Ark. instead of opening a hospital here in the Springfield, Mo. area, which, by-the-way Ft. Lenard Wood send its' patients to in dire need, to HERE! what bovine scatology is this?!

I stood in line and watched a dispersing clerk, issue, based on what I witnessed, almost $1000.00 in about 8 minutes....for travel...YES! $50K plus per day....ok,ok,ok, lets be 'reasonable' cut it in half. You mean to tell me that we can't build a hospital for the vets of the 7th for the cost of the same?? let alone the time lost in wages, family, hotel, and emotional distress?

This is the vision of a sliver of what it would be like. I’m not willing to accept that.--Michael Wardell 3/5/2010

Two new Nuke Plants. I had a standard speech about lowering taxes and slinging mud and the opposition... Boring.

Maybe I'll tease Sen Nodler about his lobbyist friends, or poke fun at Billy Long about raising Half a Million Dollars for a 174K job. maybe not.

Many have asked me why? Why are you running? Why now?.

Was it to get a job? Boost my Ego? No.

I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and that oath has no expiration date. I couldn't stand around and let my country continue down the path that it was one without standing up and doing something about it.

So I tossed in my hat and started listening to folks. I heard a lot of things, and many of those things are the same things that you and I want. Smaller Gov. Cut spending, cut taxes.
But let's face facts all of us are similar, about 85% the same. Some day we will have a debate or some similar format and drill down on a few items that we may differ on, but that's it.

This Election, in this district is more than those things I mentioned earlier.
The three most important things in this election are:

Character, Integrity, and Leadership

Lincoln spoke of Character, he said something like "If you want to see the true character of a man, give him power"
Look at the White House, and you can see a 'true character'

We can't fix the problems of our Nation without them, and at the same time we see the result when a group doesn't.

L&G, I Can't lower your taxes or build a Nuclear Power Plant in the district, I can't solve your problems, But I can work to get Government out of the way so you can.

I"m not perfect guy just a normal one that believe in the ethos I spoke of tonight,

Character, Integrity and Leadership are what this election is about, and that is what I want to take to D.C..

Thant is the only promise I'll ever make.

Thank You.

Yet, America Continues to Function. You see, My friend is also a Vet of Afghanistan.

On this info I do shed a tear, and said a prayer, for there are Men and Woman who put their lives on the line and say, 'Follow Me!' and on this note, part of America does halt it's breath, either here in the U.S., or over there.

Either way, America will continue to function. The first one because we are still free, in spite of some peoples actions, and the second, because of it. Who's side will YOU be on.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://wardellforcongress.blogspot.com/2010/02/yet-america-continues-to-function.html' title='Yet, America Continues to Function. Nathan Jessup in the movie 'A Few Good Men'. We can't fix the problem if we don't know it's broken, and it's not just broken,

We are.

The President tells us to not buy a new boat and remember to pay the mortgage. You should smell what you are shoveling Mr. President.
Here are a few facts that should scare the excrement out of every American.

By 2030 there will be 57.8 million Baby Boomers between the ages of 66-84 (US Census) Think that's far off? do you remember 1990? We're there.

57.8 million will expect their monthly check of, conservatively, $1876 (2008 Dollars) simple math tells me that this will cost us $1.3 TRILLION a Year, Not to mention another global financial melt down. Don't think so? What will happen to the stock market when most of those in that demographic start to take their REQUIRED withdrawals our of their 401k's and IRA's? Again lets speculate that half of that number takes out $2000 a month for a whopping total of $3876 a month. That's another $7-800 BILLION a year coming out of the Market. I hope your home and cars are paid for.

The sad part about this all is that this could have been avoided. Both Sides of the aisle are to blame and it's now up to us to fix this debacle.

For those that are young enough to opt out of the system and self fund their own retirement, we allow them to use the monies that would be normally be sent to Washington, D.C. and invest it on their own. Crazy? no crazier than leaving it to the politicos in D.C. to manage, They have shown us what great stewards of our retirement money they are. Remember, doing the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of stupidity, or it should be. Some will say "Wall St. is no better!" No? Well we can debate that another time but at least I can control that part of the equation with a Donald Trump inspired 'Your Fired!"

The primary litmus test that I am using is simple, It's called "Reality"
When Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman derides the so called crisis saying that the problem is modest within the framework of the GDP. (requiring additional revenues of only .54% of that figure) Well Dr. Krugman Macroeconomic factors are wonderful to tote, but the reality is if our GDP is (2008 Dollars) 14 trillion than that .54% equals $2478 for every Man, Woman and Child, in the U.S. All 305 Million of us. So a family of fours' taxes goes up about $826 a month. So much for eating. But Hey, it's only 1/2% of GDP. Considering the Ave. family only makes about (US Census) $46K a year, lets just take 20+% more from you because we were too stupid to plan.
The other reality test is all of this is predicated on one fact; there will be people still paying into this ponzi scheme. Dr. Krugman makes a huge assumption that in order to make this work current workers must continue to pay so that others can receive. What if we choose to no longer participate in this money pit? If someone did this out in the Market Place they would be....oh,wait.

This is not true financial security.

I suggest that we look at several options that the American People can choose from;

1. Stay in Social Security and nothing changes
2. Give American's the option to use their retirement funds as they see fit. i.e. some in the Social Security or cash, gold, stock, real estate etc.
3. Everything to the taxpayer.

We need to ensure that those who bought into this and have planned to have these funds available in their retirement, have them, but we can't continue down this path. We need options. After all....it is your money, shouldn't you have a real say in where it goes.

Getting America on the right track? Or derailing the constitution?

President Obama has announced a multibillion-dollar investment in high-speed railroads that could travel as fast as 200 miles per hour.

Not that this is a bad idea but since the Government can’t run scAMTRAK at a profit what makes him believe that this will be any different?
The interesting word here is ‘Investment’ If this is such a good idea, you would think that private enterprises would be clamoring to build such a rail system, but they are not for a reason. It’s unprofitable.

With costs estimated at several hundred billion dollars, let’s just speculate, $500 Billion, the rail service would have to produce a $30 billion profit to justify the expense, and that’s a modest 6% return. Lets also speculate that the profit margin is 17% that means that it would have to generate sales of 176 billion. The US airline industry consists of over 300 companies and generates revenue of about 120 billion….anyone see a problem here?

I have two questions for the President.

1. Where is the money going to come from?
2. What enumerated power in the constitution, gives you the authority to ‘invest’ our money this way.
I won’t hold my breath.

The bottom line is this;
If this is such a great idea, private enterprise would have built this years ago, High Speed trains aren’t a new concept. Just stop spending our money and follow the Constitution. Remember? The one you swore to protect and defend?

Michael Wardell is a Republican Candidate for Congress in Mo. 7th District.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://wardellforcongress.blogspot.com/2010/01/getting-america-on-right-track-or.html' title='Getting America on the right track? Can’t or won’t fix what is needed, and believes he is right no matter what anyone says to the contrary.

Even with a Super Majority he can’t close the deal. He lost the Olympics for Chicago, Failed in Copenhagen and the Chinese bullied him, fumbled Healthcare reform. Weakened our National Security giving protection to terrorist instead of defeating them, Can’t get anything done because of partisanship even with a super majority, believes the banks caused the crisis,(what about Fanny and Freddie Mr. President?) voted for their Bailout and now can’t find a chair now that the music has stopped. Promised Transparency with a mud filter, and offers no plan to fix Social Security.

Now, some may say “C’mon Michael, he hasn’t done anything right?

Mmmmm. Ok, one thing. He sent more troops to Afghanistan, but not enough.

Michael Wardell is a Republican Congressional Candidate in Mo. 7th District.
