Wardell's Jobs Plan Gains Steam

While other Republican candidates troll for votes today eating fish and passing out stickers, Michael Wardell continues to work towards creating a favorable environment for job expansion in Southwest Missouri. Wardell did not spend time at the annual Sucker Days event in his hometown of Nixa, other than a brief stop to say hello to his neighbors, speak to veterans and friends at the American Legion, and enjoy a few minutes in the sunshine.
It was back to work then as he developed his presentations for Japan and Asia for his upcoming trade mission as well as numerous meetings coming up with chambers of commerce organizations around the Ozarks. Jobs are more important right now than passing out stickers in hopes of votes.
Wardell has already won the interests and the support of multiple companies in the Ozarks that look to increase their bottom line by expanding their markets into Asia or anywhere else in the globe. These businesspersons understand the importance of his trip and what it means to the local economy and they are hoping Wardell will open up relationships so their products hit shelves in Asia.
Wardell and these businesses believe exporting products from the Ozarks to the rest of the world will help families in the Ozarks through job creation. These companies know they cannot wait for tax cuts to expand their businesses. They also realize tax cuts may not be immediately around the corner to create a more favorable economic environment. That is why Wardell’s plan has generated the interest of so many Southwest Missouri business leaders.
It’s also the reason why Southwest Missouri voters have a different choice in this year’s Republican primary. The other candidates are speaking typical platform politics, but Wardell’s plan gives each Southwest Missouri business an opportunity to grow, either directly or indirectly from the benefits that will trickle down if Southwest Missouri grows their exports to Asia and other parts of the world.

  1. Mr. Wardell,

I am happy to find your blog because I've been trying to find answers about your trip to Japan and have only been able to ask questions and comment on another blog that you occasionally comment on but have not yet received any answers. Please consider the following in regards to your most recent article:

Why insult attending an honored community festival? I'm from Nixa and I'm quite proud of Sucker Days. I'm curious as to why you think it's beneath you to campaign at the event. Are you not proud of your hometown and its history? I understand some of your attack is probably directed at one candidate in your race specifically, but why deride the others who worked hard to campaign by the rules those who operate Sucker Days set up for politicians. If you would rather be home "developing presentations", why belittle the campaign activities of the others?

"Wardell did not spend time at the annual Sucker Days event in his hometown of Nixa, other than a brief stop to say hello to his neighbors, speak to veterans and friend at the American Legion, and enjoy a few minutes in the sunshine." Either you did spend time at the festival or you didn't Mr. Wardell. Which is it?

I'm curious what exactly you will be doing in Japan that is going to bring jobs back to the 7th or how you think that's the job of a congressman. In a recent column about you going to Japan on http://bungalowbillscw.blogspot.com/, you took the time to comment on it saying that you were going to Japan to speak to the Japanese about excessive taxation. What is that going to do for the 7th and does that "bring back jobs"? In addition, you use the Constitution on a regular basis to justify your positions, where in the Constitution does it give the power to Congress to do anything about "jobs"? What enumerated power does it give to a congressman that allows for him/her to go to a foreign country and promote individual private businesses? If the congressmen are going to do this, shouldn't they be tasked with promoting ALL businesses in their district or do you think it's okay to pick the winners and losers and only promote the businesses you want to?

Your announcements about your trip to Japan always seem to be lacking detail about specifically what you will be doing there that will bring jobs back to the 7th like you promise. I don't expect ANY government official or body to do anything about jobs other than get out of the way and get government out of the way as much as possible, but your continuous boasting of your trip to Japan to bring back jobs appears to me to be even more rhetoric and pandering than going to a community festival and passing out stickers or campaign material.

AS you may have noticed, I don't believe it's the job of congress to create jobs. That's Keynesian economics pushed by FDR in the 30's and perpetuated by people asking the government to give them a job among other "rights" they expect to be handed to them since then. If you were serious about our Constitution and our NATURAL rights, you would be finding ways to get government out of our lives and allow the private sector to promote themselves overseas. Congress should NOT be in the position of picking winners and losers in the private sector by promoting who they think need to be promoted.

  2. It's unfortunate it has been a month and you haven't found the time to answer my questions.
